Oakland's Premier Attorney for Bankruptcy and Foreclosure Defense - Andrew J. Christensen

I am one of Northern California's leading experts in saving the homes of those facing foreclosure, and in getting relief for those in financial distress caused by debt. I have saved hundreds of homes for clients facing foreclosure, and helped thousands of clients out of oppressive debts. Depending on the unique needs of each client, I accomplish this through civil lawsuits, bankruptcy, restructuring plans, wiping out second mortgages, obtaining loan modifications, or debt settlement negotiation.

I am the lawyer that other lawyers call when they have tough questions about bankruptcy law. They come to me because of my intimate knowledge of the complex details of bankruptcy law, and of the most current case law affecting debtor's rights.

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the relief and happiness that my clients experience as I help them through difficult financial times by lifting their burdens of debt, and by getting justice for the wrongs caused by big banks.

My special expertise is in complicated and difficult bankruptcy cases. I take cases that other attorneys won't take. Other bankruptcy attorneys refer the difficult cases to me that will involve contested matters or complicating factors, such as adversary proceedings, dischargeability complaints, proof of claim disputes, contested motions for relief from stay, evidentiary hearings, and any other bankruptcy related litigation or disputed matter.

One of the primary reasons for my success in helping my clients is that I understand the needs and experiences of clients from all walks of life. This knowledge helps me find the best solution for the needs of each client, because each client has unique experiences and goals.

The other reason for my successful track record in helping clients is that my expertise in this area of law allows me to achieve better results for my clients. Having been elected as the Chairman of the Bankruptcy Committee of the Alameda County Bar Association, it is my job to organize, conduct, and present seminars on bankruptcy and lending laws to educate lawyers in this field. I present seminars on various bankruptcy topics, including the complexities of chapter 13 payment plans.

I fight hard for debtor’s rights. I recently won an appeal that was great victory for debtors in protecting their rights to control payment of secured claims in Chapter 13 bankruptcy plans. The case is In re Bea, 533 B.R. 283 (B.A.P. 9th Cir. 2015). This case has been published and is having a positive impact on debtor’s rights across the nation.

I also serve my clients by enforcing the bankruptcy protections of the automatic stay the discharge injunction by pursuing creditors who violate the automatic stay during the case, or who try to collect debts later that were discharged in a prior bankruptcy.

Saving homes from foreclosure and wiping out debts are what I do best. Come see me for a free consultation and find out what I can do for you.
